Inside Insync – Sam Gregory

Today we meet:

Sam Gregory: Systems Engineer

Time with Insync: June 2019

Previous notable time in IT industry/customer/vendor: 18 months

What are your best skills for your role?

I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t know how to listen to feedback or ask the questions I need answers to. Having a sense of empathy when it comes to speaking with clients is important too.

What do you like about your role?

Every day is a school day! We have a great team here and I like almost everyone, except Geoff.

What trends are you seeing with customers?

It seems more and more people are moving to Teams, direct routing, and away from more on-prem solutions which is cool.

What do you think about the opportunity for Microsoft Teams for customers?

Wow what a segue I should probably have looked down here first. It’s great. Having trained a few organisations in it and having used it myself fairly extensively, it really is the future if you’re an Microsoft based organisation. And if you’re not, let’s book in a chat.

Where have you used Insync core values in Insync’s everyday work life?

While I aim to live these values all the time, the main one for me is don’t BS the customer. People can smell it a mile away and especially when you’re locked in with someone, one tiny piece of garbage can wreck an entire holiday.

What do you like to do in your downtime?

I write and produce music (as well as mixing mine and other people’s), I have a few records out and I’m currently working on a full-length album and a live show. I would also be snowboarding right now if it weren’t for COVID-19.
