Cloud Connector Edition – Removing a site?

Posted by: Stuart Moore in Cloud PBX

I was implementing a small Proof of Concept on Skype for Business Cloud Connector Edition (CCE) for a customer and I uncovered some odd behaviour with regards to their CCE deployment.

The customer had tried to deploy the CCE environment themselves and had gone some way along the journey to getting it deployed.

This seems to happen on occasion with customers and I thought it would be handy if anyone needed to remove an existing CCE deployment and configure a new one.

In particular, I was having this issue when registering the CCE appliance against Skype for Business Online.

“Register-InccInstance : Can not create new site SYD-HQ because the Site Name specified: SYD-HQ or Edge Fqdn: fqdn.domain.com.au conflicts with an existing site(s).

At C:\Program Files\WindowsPowerShell\Modules\CloudConnector\Register-CcInstance.ps1:15 char:21

+     ExecuteAndLog { Register-InccInstance $SiteName $ApplianceName $Local} $LogT …

+                     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (:) [Write-Error], WriteErrorException

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.WriteErrorException,Register-InccInstance”

I tried to remove the Hybrid PSTN Site using Remove-CsHybridPstnSite but it threw an exception saying I had to remove the Hybrid PSTN Appliance record first. At first there seemed to be no way to do this, Unregister-CsCceAppliance did not work and again threw exceptions that I had clashing sites and FQDNs.

I worked out (appears to be an undocumented PowerShell cmdlet) to use the Complete-CsCceApplianceUnregistration which removed the CCE hybrid PSTN appliance record and then I was able to use Remove-CsHybridPstnSite cmdlet to remove all traces of my existing CCE site configuration.

I could then use Register-CcAppliance to continue the build against a new site using my existing FQDN.

Hope this saves someone a headache!
